We are more than halfway through summer and in this edition of From the General Manager’s Desk, I want to touch on who American PERMALIGHT® is and how we can help you and your business.
Our History
American PERMALIGHT® Inc. was established as a California incorporation in 1988 and has consistently improved its internal operations to provide its customers with a high level of customer service and to supply durable life safety products since then. Although the world has changed dramatically since 1988, our commitment to the importance of photoluminescence in the life safety industry has not; we are as motivated now as back when American PERMALIGHT® first began.
Our Motto
In 2019, American PERMALIGHT® changed its company motto (slogan) from When all lights are out … PERMALIGHT® glows! to Guide & Protect to encompass all aspects of its business and include the full product line it provides to its customers.

Being an active participant in the life safety niche to educate the public about photoluminescence, to improve the life safety industry. Our team is focused on creating conscious awareness of photoluminescent code requirements in high-rise buildings and the lack of code requirements in residential buildings. It would be safer for everyone if federal, state, and local governments adopted photoluminescent egress path marking requirements in the codes for residential buildings where people spend most of their free time.
