Reflect on 2020

2020 has been quite the year to remember and has forced most people to accept a new reality and adapt to doing things differently. At this point, it is important to assess your current business needs by reflecting back on the year. It might be painful or exciting, but it is necessary to evaluate the past 11 months. I encourage you to ask yourself:

  • Are you achieving the success you want?
  • Are you busy but not quite accomplishing your goals?
  • Are you neither busy nor accomplishing goals?

Our customers who decided to break out of the survival mode mindset have been some of the most successful that we have had the pleasure of working with over the years. They found a way to stop living in crisis mode and reinvent themselves in a time of uncertainty.

Those who decided to leave the “solve the present” way of thinking made the decision to rethink the way they do business during this unique time. Being open to new ideas allowed them to transform their existing business model into even more successful channels.

Recommit to Your 2020 Goals

No matter how successful or difficult your first three-quarters of 2020 were for you and your business, you can finish the year off as strong as possible. Success depends on your commitment to your goals.

  • What are you doing now to help you reach your 2020 goals in the few remaining weeks?
  • How are you using the rest of 2020 to advance your skill set?
  • What virtual program can you start working on NOW that will help you in the future?
“In the midst of every crisis, lies great opportunity.” – Albert Einstein

Your company and personal productivity may not exceed where they were last year, but you have the opportunity to prepare a strategy to help your business get back on track in 2021. Even if your business grew in 2020, you have the opportunity to grow your business even more in 2021.

Redesign Your Focus for Growth in 2021

Looking to 2021 and beyond, it is important to identify smart and effective business operations to remain relevant in your industry as well as provide a competitive advantage to your customers.

  • What are you doing now to help you reach your goals in 2021?
  • How can you diversify your existing business in 2021?
  • What areas of opportunity do you have to grow in 2021?

I challenge each of you to take time to reflect on the current year, find a way to finish 2020 strong, and be open-minded about new opportunities in 2021.
