Project Details
The PERMALIGHT® Photoluminescent Egress Path Marking System is installed within the extensive emergency exit stairwells of the Zurich North American headquarters. The following are the products from our path marking system that were selected and installed for this project.
Stair Step-Edge/Landing
Custom lengths of our PERMALIGHT® Photoluminescent Aluminum Stair Nosings are installed along the emergency exit stairwell step-edges and landings for the Zurich Insurance, North America egress path marking project. Our aluminum nosings are code-compliant and easy to install with just simple surface preparation, construction adhesive, and time to fully dry/cure.
The aluminum nosings are extruded from our manufacturer here in the USA, and the anti-slip/photoluminescent and black grit anti-slip strips are applied by hand in our facility in Torrance, California.
Stair Handrail Marking, Wall-Mounted Perimeter Demarcation, Exit Door Frame + Exit Push Bar Marking
The PERMALIGHT® Photoluminescent Polyester Tape is a multi-purpose marking product that can be used in several different ways in relation to building code-compliant photoluminescent egress path markings. For this Zurich project, the tape was used in the following ways:
- Stair Handrail Marking
- Wall-Mounted Perimeter Demarcation
- Exit Door Frame Marking
- Exit Door Push Bar Marking
Obstacle Marking
The PERMALIGHT® Photoluminescent Photoluminescent/Contrast Black Obstacle Polyester Tape is used to mark projections at or below 6’6″ that reach 4″ or further into the egress path. Typical obstacles that are marked in these types of projects are pipes and/or wall-mounted fire-suppression equipment.
